What is preventive care?
Dr. Natalie B. McCarthy and our friendly dental team work hard to keep your smile in the best possible health. We strive to not only repair dental damage after it occurs, but also to prevent negative conditions from developing. We provide preventive care to keep your smile free from dental diseases like tooth decay and periodontal (gum) disease.
How can I keep my smile healthy?
At our dental office, we believe that preventive dentistry is important yet simple. Be certain to visit our dental office at least twice a year; during these routine visits, our dentist and dental team will make sure that your smile is healthy. If needed, we will recommend preventive dental services like sealants and fluoride treatment. These help to prevent tooth decay. We may also recommend a mouth guard or night guard, which can help to protect your smile from damage caused by sports injuries, teeth grinding (bruxism), and other factors. It is also essential that you practice good dental hygiene to keep your smile healthy. This should include brushing and flossing your teeth every day and maintaining a balanced diet with a limited amount of sugary foods.
